Belle of the Garden

When I was a child, I saw a flower that bloomed only once in twenty years, maybe even longer.  My parents and I sat there taking pictures for hours.  I never saw it bloom again.  I don't remember what happened to it.  We probably gave it away or moved it into the house where it now looks like any other plant flowerless plant.  Perhaps it died.  I don't know.  As much as I remember that beautiful flower, I still appreciate my father's garden with tulips, bleeding hearts, and tons of flowers that sprout in spring.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that just because something is rare and beautiful doesn't make it superior to those that are beautiful every day.  Make sure you appreciate those around you that sometimes you forget because they shine on ordinary days.
