KEEP STRONG AND MARRY ON CONTEST

The Mission

This contest is about creating a piece about marriage equality.  Whether your message is the joy of marital bliss, equality, fighting against unjust laws, inviting homophobic relatives as wedding guests, genderqueer weddings, being an ally for a friend and their fiance, or anything else related to marriage equality, this contest deals with the whole spectrum of feelings in artistic expression about marriage equality.

I say "marriage equality" because "gay marriage" implies that bisexuals, pansexuals, etc. are not involved, and "same-sex marriage" implies that people of different gender identities are not involved.  I know I said that New Jersey legalized same-sex marriage rather than "marriage equality," but to my knowledge they really did only legalize same-sex marriage.  I'm not really sure about their policies are on genderqueer/gender non-conforming marriages.  In addition, I did want to include polyamorous relationships as a possible topic.

The Rules

1. Your work must be related to marriage equality.
That can be same-sex marriage, polyamorous relationships, gay marriage, trans marriage etc.

2. You are allowed to use any medium to create your artwork.  That includes digital art, animation, literature, artisan crafts, photography, etc.  Any medium allowed on deviantART is fair game as long as it fits the theme of the contest.
You can choose any medium, but make sure that it has something to do with marriage equality.

3. Your work cannot be art theft according to the rules of deviantART.  You can use works that you've already made or create new ones, but it has to be your work.

4. No homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, panphobia, or any other kind of hatred and discrimination against gender non-conforming and queer people.  Racism, sexism, etc. is also not allowed.

5. You can submit as many entries as you want!

6. You don't have to be a member of Love Sees No Gender to enter, but you MUST be willing to submit your entry to the LSNG gallery to join the contest.


How to enter

Send a note to SavvyRed with a link(s) to your deviation(s). Make sure you that you make it clear that this is for the Keep Strong and Marry On contest.  If it's easier for you, you can title your message "Keep Strong and Marry On Contest" and then put the link(s) in your message.

I will then send a request to put your artwork in the gallery, and you'll have to accept to enter.  If you have any questions or problems, you can always send me a note!
